SUMMER WORKSHOP

Many ballet teachers who have had fruitful careers as dancers will agree when we say that it is easier to dance than to teach.

Why? Perhaps because when you demand things from yourself, your efforts are concentrated on just your own body and mind. When you demand things from your students, not only are your efforts divided between the ten or so bodies in the studio – but the responsibility of proper demonstartion, explanation and enforcement of discipline plus sustaining the interest of the student over the long arduous years of dance training can be overwhelming to say the least.

Asked to create the best American ballet company possible, it was the great George Balnchine who said, “First, a school…..”

Although in Ballet Manila we did things the other way around, we are proud of each and every student at the BM School. With the school situated inside the “ballet compound”, the company and the school can now work hand in hand.

Work we did. Every Summer, we hold performances that serve as the culmination of our workshop and hopefully, the beginning of many long and colorful careers in dance for many of our young ballerinas and danseurs.

We are looking forward to many more summers, many more students, and many more dreams that reach their fulfillment. We are one big happy family at BM. The Summer Workshops are an exciting way to experience the fun and accomplishment that BM always tries to inject.

Just Dance and enjoy it!
